GANG MONUMENT |

THE SPACE BETWEEN: Given that the purpose of the space between is to provide a meeting place for students to exchange ideas, I wanted to create a multi-dimensional and intimate however dynamic space. To achieve this I included a stairway and a platform joining the monuments with the land form underneath. The space between can be occupied on multiple levels from multiple view points. |
THE ENVIRONMENT: Space in the real world is occupied by man and nature, each governed by its own unique set of purposes. The placement of the monuments against this landscape is to highlight the multiple processes within a space. The view/outlook from the monuments and the space between is designed to illustrate how architecture creates a relationship between these multiple processes. |
Columns were placed across the Gang monument and platform within the space between to create a path of circulation within the architecture; to connect the monuments and space between. Here the outlook/view limits the size and positioning of the columns considering that the outlook establishes a relationship between building and purposes and processes in the real world. |
